Airport Arrival → Pinnawala → Kandy
Ayubowan! Meet and assist at the airport by your private guide and transfer from airport to Kandy. En route visit to the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage situated halfway between Colombo and Kandy. Home to about 75 elephants, it is the world’s largest collection of captive elephants. Experience the sheer delight of watching these great pachyderms frolic in the river at bath time and baby elephants being fed twice a day.
Proceed to Kandy, the last royal kingdom of Sri Lanka surrounded by mountains. Visit the venerated Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) housing the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha under a golden canopy. Late evening, attend a traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance performance.
Excursion to Sigiriya 5th-Century Rock Fortress
After breakfast, embark on a day excursion to Sigiriya. Sigiriya is a massive red stone monolith fortress rising abruptly from the plains, built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa. Known as 'Lion Rock' because of the giant lion image carved at the entrance. Famous for its 1,500-year-old painted frescoes, mirror wall, and UNESCO world heritage water gardens. Considered the 8th wonder of the world. Return to Kandy in the afternoon.
Kandy → Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda Falls & Tea Factory
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda Falls (80 km, scenic 3-hour drive) ascending to 6,200 ft above sea level. En route, visit a functioning Ceylon tea factory and witness the processing of world-renowned high-grown aromatic tea.
Explore 'Little England' with its colonial British architecture, the historic Hill Club, Grand Hotel, racecourse, and 18-hole golf course nestled amid cool misty mountains.
Nuwara Eliya → Colombo Commercial Capital
After breakfast, descend towards Colombo or beach stay. Explore Colombo, Sri Lanka's vibrant commercial capital on the west coast. Tour the twin towers of the World Trade Center, the majestic Old Parliament building, colonial architecture from British, Portuguese, and Dutch eras, and stroll along the one-mile oceanfront promenade of Galle Face Green.
Colombo → Airport Departure
After breakfast, enjoy last-minute shopping and transfer comfortably with your chauffeur to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
